Everybody adores something that he/she hasn’t. Given that I have dark brown hair, I am dreaming of being a blonde.
Last year I decided to give it a try. Enjoy my balayage experience.
From dark brown to dark bond my balayage journey
Hence my hair is grey at the routs I started dying my hair ten years ago. Every four to five weeks I visit my hairdresser. My natural hair color is dark brown. I liked this color but wanted to try something new. As already mentioned there is this dream of having blond hair.
My first source for a proper research is youtube of course. After several videos, I made up my mind. Balayage is the keyword. With no further ado, I went to my hairdresser for a consultancy. She has been reluctant because she was not sure if the color transformation would suit my type.
My first balayage treatment
With excitement and a bit nervous I went to my first balayage appointment.
Balayage is a particular applying technic. The hair bleach will be applied in sweeping motions on the hair strand. No aluminum foil is necessary. The goal is to create a soft transition and natural look.
Of course, this was only the beginning. I loved the lighter look and got so many compliments on my hair color.
Over the last year, I got a worked on highlights every 8 to 12 weeks. Altogether once the balayage and four times highlights.
My hair in March after two sessions with highlights.
After another session in June, the highlights are visible.
The hair needs so much more attention and care. I use an overnight hair care once a week.
In August my hair is already very light. Summer sun and seawater beached the hair but made it even drier.
This is the point where I decided that my hair needs more care in the process of the bleaching.
On an event, I got introduced to a hairstylist, and my friend keeps gushing how good they are and how beautiful their salon is.
A few days later I went there for a consultation, and we fixed an appointment.
Gül, my hairstylist, decided to do another balayage to create a lighter look. To soften the treatment and take care of the dry hair she worked with Olaplex. A three-phase treatment consisting of a bond multiplier, a bond perfector, and a hair perfector. The phases one and two are used in the salon during the treatment. Step three is a product you use at home.
After the second phase, Gül applied a glossing treatment for the perfect care and glossy finish. This time my hair needed a little cut due to some split ends and to create a new look.
I am thrilled with my new hair color and style. Thank you to the team of The Arts Room Frankfurt.
